The Wall, part 3

And now, time to just enjoy what is transpiring with the wall. Lucky for us, son Nat (artist & wedding photographer) just wrapped up a visit here with wife, Rachel and kids Evie & Violet.  And as we joked with another Isla resident, you always make use of your company!  (And they are usually happy to help out...)
                 More minds, more ideas;

Here is Nat after sealing the wall, and
now applying a background, base coat.

( Sr. Ruinas, below, steadying the ladder in the extreme wind we've been having... or is he?)

check out those palm trees, spaced along the wall

and here he is climbing a ladder to apply matching light blue paint to the small upper balcony, tying the wall to the house.

So lucky we got a real artist on the job.

It's starting to come together.
And as part of the design is on the wall, it is also tied into the side of the house.
        so creative.
Lots of walls around...but not many linked to their counterpart house quite like this.

Right now he's working in brown, with tree branches.  It makes me think a little of Tim Burton's designs in the Nightmare Before Xmas...something a little eerie and shadowy...

Looks like the brown is applied:
Wall,  Balcony, house...

Time for orange.   Be bold.

As a neighbor remarked, it looks so Mexican.
That's what I love about Mexico...the colors.
But in fact, this kind of has more of a Japanese flavor.
It seems to reference the Japanese art of 'Ikebana' or flower arranging,  using a simple stem of flowers in a dramatic way.

But either way...it's fun...whimsical & light.

And some experimenting goes on too...on the left, balcony,
he was painting in some little spokes into the center of the flower...as per the original design...
but in the end, we decided we liked the open, simplistic look better.  More imaginative...     keep it simple, I guess...

Here come the birds.
A couple of birds, one on the house, one on the wall--

Casa Colibri'  is the name of the house, though no one probabaly knows that.  Having a name is important, and expected...
The house is kind of small, like a hummingbird...
(it's a popular fun word in Spanish also...accent on end)

I'll get the name either on the side of the house,
or on the balcony...      which is best?

Voila'      It's looking great-  (a pair of pants got sacrificed in the effort  :)        all art is sacrifice, right?

y gracias              (can't wait for your next visit !  :)
